Brief Introduction

Zhang Yuting, Ph.D., graduated from the Department of Meteorology, China Agricultural University with a bachelor's degree in science in 2012. In 2017, he obtained a doctorate in agronomy from the Department of Meteorology, China Agricultural University. During the period, he went to the International Climate and Global Change Research Center of the College of Forestry, Auburn University, USA for a year and a half. From June 2017 to October 2019, he was a postdoctoral fellow in the State Key Laboratory of Urban and Regional Ecology of the Research Center for Eco-Environmental Sciences of the Chinese Academy of Sciences. Since October 2018, he has served as an assistant researcher in the ecological model and global change group of the center. Dr. Zhang has been engaged in research on the impact of global change on agro-ecosystems. He has actively explored the combination of crop models and large-area ecosystem dynamic models at the doctoral level and achieved outstanding results. She further researched on global change and the direction of agro-ecosystems during the post-doctoral period,which improved the agricultural module of the terrestrial ecosystem(DLEM-AG2.0) and promoted the research of ecological models and global changes in agro-ecosystems. Relevant research results are published in international academic journals such as Agricultural and Forest Meteorology, Journal of Advances in Modeling Earth Systems and PLOS ONE.

Environmental changes caused by global climate and human activities have become major challenges for the sustainable development of agro-ecosystems. The agro-ecosystem is not only the bearer of climate change, but also an important source of emissions leading to the increase of N2O and CH4. How to reduce greenhouse gas emissions while ensuring food security is an urgent task for China to cope with global changes. This report mainly introduces the improvement and upgrading of the agricultural model of the terrestrial ecosystem dynamic model, as well as its application in China and global agro-ecosystems, including crop yield and simulation of greenhouse gas emissions from major farmland, climate change and other environmental factors contributions, etc.
